Condensation on ally bed frame

We recently bought an Eccles Jewel (2007) with fixed bed, the frame of which is alluminium.
We were away up int' Dales last weekend and it got a bit cowd (cold). As a consequence when we stripped the bedding from the bed, we noticed that there was rather a lot of dampness round the edge of the sheets, caused by condensation from the said alluminium bed frame. (Yes the air vents are clear from obstruction)
Has anyone else had this problem and did you rectify it...if so what did you do

You need to keep the metal warm, try a tub heater under the bed, 60watt should be ok.

put a linner sheet on the frame like the ones you can get for mattres protection.
