Good morning! Not the greatest DIY but am wondering if its a straight forward job to obtain a conversion connector etc (?) to change from butane to propane gas bottles or has regulations made this difficult for diy person to do. We are on butane gas in our Lunar Stella 'van but have come into possession of 2 good size brand new propane gas bottles Any contributions gratefully received! Thanks buksang

you have to cut off he old one and replace it with one of the other types make sure you use a new pipe clip , I would suggest that as it is gas you are interfering with uless you are 100% sure of what you are doing you get someone to do it for you,
as an aside once you have changed over the bottles there is no need to change back to butane as calor will exchange the blue bottles to red at no extra charge and propane is better for winter use as it does not freeze in cold weather. I converted to propane last year as the new calor lite bottles only come in propane,

Or it may just be a case if you're van is quite new of popping into your local dealers and getting a new pigtail. As Sir Chunky says Propane is much better for winter use, which is why we changed over years ago, and now have lite so as easier to lift in and out

Just to explain a pigtail is the flexible pipe/hose that joins the bottle to the vans gas regulator on newer vans. That is because the regulator is suitable for butane and propane so only the flexible needs changing. If your regulator is connected directly onto the bottle then the first reply answer is correct.
