Correct Winter Storage

Please would the more experienced members tell me what they beleive to be the correct proceedure for locking up the caravan over the winter period.

I read for example, open all the closet and internal doors, lift the matress and chair cushions etc. etc

What gets the best results when returning back to the van in spring.

Thank you

Hi Bob

In the blue panel at the top left hand side of this webpage click on HOME PAGE

From there in the purple panel 'Solving Your Problems' click on Features.

From the list of red links click on 'Laying up for Winter' and the article from the magazine can be accessed.

Thank you Parksy, I'm trying to pull information after placing the blog Serious Damp in my New Bailey Van.

Hi Bob,

I would say don't lock it up for the winter in the first place, make use of it all year round.

You can have some really nice holiday at this time of the year and with the heater going in the van it can be snug and warm even in this weather.

Would you beleive I am also having problems with the heating, The fire seems to work well on gas allowing me to vent around the caravan, but when we use the electric side of the fire the heat output is so poor that we have purchased a convector heater from B & Q.

Sad somewhat..

Thanks for the advise, I will need to convince the wife that sleeping in a damp environment is healthy
