We are in the Severn Trent region and got our bill today. We did expect a bit of an increase over the same period last and previous years, but not over £100 for almost the same consumption. The excuse was they need to money to upgrade the infrastructure. If so, why have they been paying huge bonuses to management and also share holders? Not forgetting the golden pensions that the consumer is propping up! Surely updating the infrastructure should have happened years ago and spread over time instead of dishing out those huge bonuses?

Unfortunately a well publicised situation with the water companies. Weak regulation and a drive to keep consumer bills low over the past decades have led to insufficient investment in all aspects of water supply and sewage treatment.

We have tried various brandies that are available here, but have not come across one that is really enjoyable.

The Aldi Glen Marnoch’s at £19.99 are well worth a punt. Both have won awards coming ahead of the better known brands.

and here is me thinking that the cost of our water was astronomical? Glad I only enjoy the very occasional whisky like Glenfiddich or some of that Welsh Penderyn whisky.

That's nothing, ours went from £500 per year to £900 this year. Absolutely absurd 😡

Talking to a friend today in a pub, he said his water company Anglian, contacted him saying he had a water leak, on checking it was a water supply to his fridge, for the cold water and ice blocks. Just a drip, but 5 gallons a week. No damp in the kitchen.
