cotswolds

Hi all, Booked onto the Moreton-in-Marsh Caravan club site for a few days at the end of October. Anyone been there and can tell me what it's like? Any pubs nearby within walking distance? Am also interested in cycling, and was wondering whether it was worth taking the bikes down. It's a long haul from Newcastle upon Tyne for tehm to be left on teh top of the car all week!

Hiya Dave, Moreton's a lovely spot. You are within walking distance of the town (5 mins).

Quite a good selection of pubs/restaurants, can't advise you on the bikes though.

Dave - usual CC high standards.Big site, very popular with families, and was very busy when we were there for a weekend in early April. Only a few minutes flat walk along pavements into the village centre where there are plenty of pubs, shops, restaurants etc. Plenty of small roads around for cycling (and some busy main ones too). Hope you have a good time. Graham

Hi Dave, The site you are going to is great. All the usual facilities that you would expect of a Club Site, and within walking distance of the village which has numerous pubs, eating places and a market during the week. Can't give you any advice on cycling, but it is a wonderful area to explore.Hope you enjoy your break.

Hi Dave. Moreton is a really good site, mainly hardstandings, and within easy walking distance to the town. Town is blessed with 15 pubs from memory, and also has supermarket, petrol stations and takeaways. Lots to do for the children in the area, Warwick Castle is worth a visit as is Gloucester Docks. Cycling will be OK but you are in the Cotswold Hills so can be hard work.Site has a good childrens play area and is usually very clean, Hope you enjoy your stay. P.S. last time we went you needed to arrive before 7p.m.

Thanks for your replies - seems that we picked well for the site! Really looking forward to it. Got some cylce routes from the Tourist Info - along lanes mainly - but they are about 25 - 30 miles! Tempting - but perhaps visiting local villages and touristy things may be the thing to do! Have heard the autumn colours are gr8, if there are any leaves left by then!

dave.

Fantastic site with lots of pubs/shops/restaurants just round the corner. BUT, if you go into town at night take a torch, as the short walk from the site to the town is pitch black!!
