We have stayed at Craigtoun Meadows several times over the past 5 years - the most recent last weekend for 3 nights.
The site comprises of statics and tourers in 2 seperate areas and some chalets. All touring pitches are hardstanding and the large and patio pitches all have individual water and waste. It is worth paying extra for the patio pitches if available as they also have a wooden storage hut, paved patio and patios chairs & table. Only the large and patios piches can accommodate large outfits.
The site is about 1 1/2 miles from St Andrews & next door to Craigtoun Country Park whilst being well placed for touring the attractions of the East Neuk of Fife. The walk into St Andrews is a nice walk but the return is mostly uphill and may pose problems for anyone with walking difficulties.
This site is upto the standards of the Caravan Club sites and has a small cafe/restaurant on site which is very reasonable.Their website has a 360 degree webcam of the touring area/facilties and links to the top 20 tourist attractions in Fife.
A status omni-directional ariel is no good on site however with a directional ariel tv reception is excellent. The site does not have seasonal piches for tourers (only 1) and as it has many repeat visitors it is always advisable to book in advance. This site is well worth its 5 star rating and I would highly recommend - never heard anyone say anything bad about the site.
