Creaking stabilizer....HELP

Hi, i have a bulldog stabilzer, purchased new, and only used twice.

The last time i used it, it creaked like hell, all the way there and all the way back, driving everyone mad.

I'm off to the Loire Valley at the end of July, the thought of having to put up with the noise for 600 miles there and 600 back does not fill me with enthusiasm.

Does anyone know of a cure for the creaking. It is the old style' leaf spring style stabiliser.

Many thanks in advance..

Dismantle it and inspect the discs for damage.

Blow out all dust without inhaling and clean glaze off with wet and dry/emery

Reassemle and set to the previous pressure.

Measure pressure by pushing the bar with bathroom scales and noting reading before dismantling

This is very common

If the creaking is coming from where the leaf spring sits in the shoe on the caravan, try putting some candle wax on the shoe.

As mentioned earlier clean all pads but be careful not to breath in the dust.

Before playing with it try the old trick

Bucket of water

htch up

soak the stabaliser

drive away

Worked for many people so far

Steve
