credit cards abroad

I have a Caravan Club credit card, issued through Frizzells whiuch I use when I go abroad, there are no additional charges for purchases made within the European zone. Out of the Euro zone commission charges for conversion are incurred.

Is anyone aware of a card which will allow non commission charges when out of Europe, USA for example? Thanks

Tony.

I like yourself have a CC Card. I beleive that the Nationwide also do a no charge abroad card but I'm not sure if it covers the states. You could try thier web site or try Your Money.co.uk

or it could be .com They seem to give a general overview

Colin, thanks, I think the Nationwide is free only to remove cah from the ATM, I may set up an account with them as I can use cash in USA rather than credit card. Cheers

Don't forget to tell your bank that you are going abroad otherwise they may refuse payment.
That's a new one on me, I work exclusively overseas and I have never had to inform my bank. One week I'm in Europe next week in Asia or wherever, and never had a problem. Accounts with both Natwest and HSBC.

Yes, the Nationwide credit card has no charges for purchases anywhere worldwide. However, it does charge interest on ATM cash withdrawals from the date of withdrawal. The Caravan Club credit card also charges interest on ATM withdrawals.

As someone who spend some months abroad each year in our caravan the best deal is from the Nationwide for credit card purchases and the Nationwide debit card for ATM (charge free) withdrawals.

I stress that I have no involvement with the Nationwide other than as a satisfied customer.

Well in fact I had payement refused this year as I had told my bank that I was in France, but then I had to pay a bill to P & O in England.
