Hi, didnt know where to put this topic so I will have a go here. I bought a van in Sept this year and have still not received cris documents back yet from cris register. they state there is a back log?. Is there anyone else outthere having the same problem before I get on to them with a piece of my mind

it took about 6 weeks to get my cris reg certificate back last year, i got my new van from a dealer and apparently they only sendthe reg forms off to cris in bulk once a month...... hope this helps

I also had a problem with receiving the CHRIS documents.

Bought new van in July and only just received the docs about a week ago. It seems that CHRIS now have a new computer system that needs the dealer to electronically send the details in stead a paper method. Chase the dealer as they seem to be the ones draging thgeir heels. It will arrive eventually.

Still not got mine so will be getting in touch with CRIS now as its been 6 weeks and getting worried. Dealer says they sent them off but that no peace of mind to me

why would you pay for a paper to say you own your caravan when your bill of sale is the legal proof of ownership?

i used to sell caravans and i wont waste money on somthing i dont need i must have bought and sold 100+ with no need for cris doc

i suppose its up to you but i would not bother
 
I dont pay it comes from the dealer and wouldnt buy a van without it being registered. would you buy a car without a log book (v5) enough said

we purchased our caravan on 24th august this year, and the cris documents arrived yesterday. so dont stress too much, id actually forgotten about them. hope this helps. regards ED

Hi9 Trev, The V5 log book is a legal document,the Cris register is not. There is no legal requirement to have a caravan registered, there is a legal requirement to register a motor vehicle.

hello gerald, yes i am, we never got round to it, im going to hang on and make a decision after xmas, as the way things are going we may be living in it by then. regards ED
 
CRiS have recently put an electronic system in place and with several things this has caused a back log. They are catching up with these and you will receive it soon.

I recently had my van written off.

When the salvage arrived to collect it they would not remove without the cris document and insurance would not pay out.

I had to get a duplicate which i think was around
