we Dutch cycle a lot and if you are camping in the netherlands you cannot do that without a bicyle: do not bring your own. In every town/city cycle shops are everywhere and each one do have bikes for renting- about 15 euro maximum per day.
There is no town or spot that is not connected with good cyclepaths- in fact a cyclist is king: even if he/she do not abide to the rules!
The campsites are classified by ANWB- our AA- and they are very strict.

Maybe next year, if the £/€ gets better, only passed through the very south on route back from Dusseldorf. We have some Dutch freinds that have a permanant pitch in Monteuil sur Mer. €1500 for the year only a 3 hour drive for them. .

Cycled from Amsterdam Central Station along the Damrack (?) and around central Amaterdam. A frightening experience, not the trams or cars or pedestrians, but the other cyclists who take no prisoners. More civilised down south in Vlissingen though.

I live just across from Vlisingen on the other side of the Westerschelde in Zeeuws Vlaanderen. We do not see Amsterdam as The Netherlands. If you come here, go for the small places near cities eg die Achterhoek.

We have alljust come back from Holland ( delft houit )in August and I would highly recommend it for cycling . it's quicker than driving we cycled about on bikes most off the holiday and even the youngest our youngest who was only 6 managed miles and Miles because of the flat services . mind you when you're driving you need eyes in the back of your head when you're coming to a round about as the bikes have right off way over the cars ! they just keep going they don't stop ! Expensive place though but very scenic .
