damp reading

Can anybody tell me when a damp reading in a caravan is deemed to be a problem. I have water leaking into my caravan through a door seal and the dealer has carried out a damp check and he said the highest reading is 30. Is this ok. Is it percentage or a figure used in damp testing.

Thanks

Ian

In my opinion it needs looking at however small as small leaks go into bigger ones, ive pulled many a caravans apart for a small leak, only to find ive finished doing a major repair,

Hi,

Just fetched our van back from it's first service and the readings were mostly 10/14.The dealer said anything up to 20 is OK but over this inspection and remedy work is required.

Regards

Nidge

0 to 15% is OK

15 to 20% may require further investigation when compare to the average of all the readings taken.Re check the reading in 3 months.

20 to 30% Identifies areas needing remedial work. There may be signs of water ingress or moisture. Consideration shold be given to checking area again in 3 months.

over 30% Structural damage may be occurring and deterioration is inevitable

Thanks for your replies. I'm in the middle of arguments with the dealer about replacing the van due to this leak.
