damp readings after repair

How long should it take damp readings to reduce in a wallboard once the leak is fixed? I'm talking about a wall board that is not soft or pimpled but just showed a high reading. The leak was from the roof to front panel joint strip on a bailey senator s5. Should the readings reduce within a few weeks or months or will they never come back down?

Think the recommended waiting time is apprpox 3 months, then get it checked again,

I suggest you keep the heating on for a few weeks with some of the windows fastened on the night setting for ventilation.
This will give the boards a good head start.

Thanks. Im using it in a couple of weeks for my holiday so if the good old British summer weather doesn't warm it up I will get some localised heat up there and check again when I get home. I have my own protometer but the temptation is to prod the walls every few days. At this rate my van will resemble a pin cushion.

As a matter of interest was the leak from the first couple of screws on the roof bar?

Sort of. Right at the end of the rail the abs panel cracks at the joint corner. The cracks usually hidden under old sealant or green mould. A good clean up and poke about usually reveals the cracks which are the source of ingress.
