decal`s

any advice on removal of old decals from caravan before fitting new. area decal`s are on are glass fiber and another one of aluminium thank`s in advance, terry baker

Hi Terry, Warm the decals with a hairdrier,as they warm up the adesive should soften enough for you to peel them off,any surplus adesive can be removed with a suitable solvent.

Terry

I've never tried either of these tips but have read about them lately.

1. Use very warm water direct from a kettle (just a thought. I assume the decals are on the outside!!!)

2.Try using a hairdrier on the decals. Apparently it will melt the decal glue allowing you to peel off the decal.

Hope this helps.

Terry, warm gently with a hot air gun on low, gently pull away from the van at 90 degrees, warming as you go. When applying the new decals it helps if you spray the van with soapy water first, it allows you a bit of movement if you don't get it in the right place first time.

Good luck.
