dehumidifiers electric usage in winter storage

Does anyone have any advice on usage; are they worth using; is there any other method of preventing damp air when a breathable cover is installed. What is the best make that doesn't cost the earth

The subject of dehumidifiers has been covered many times and the general consensus is they are a complete waste of time due to the number of vents in the floor. All you will do is dry out Great Britain!
