Dents

Due to my own carelessness I have made two dents on the side of my virtually new caravan. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas how to remove them, or had heard of a company thet could do it. I know such companies exist for car bodywork, but unsure about caravans. To say I am distraught is an understatement.

Peter,

How big are the dents? Bigger than a 50p piece? If not what a lot of caravan body repair shops do is put an oblong reflector over them.

Alternatively there are a couple of dent franchises operating in this country. I think thy're called either Mr Dent or Doctor Dent or The Dent Doctor. I have read that they use suction methods to pull dents out so as long as the skin hasn't been badly gouged they may be able to help you. Because of the sandwich construction of caravans, panel beating is rarely an option.

Not as distraught as i was when i heard my eldest drop his bike onto the side of our new caravan. Down to halfords and bought a couple of nice orange reflectors and covered the dent with one and measured the same on the other side to make them look as if strategically placed. No sign of any dents now !

dents can be sorted quite easilly be a caravan service centre and you wont notice the difference but i dont know how much.

i dont now wich part of the country you come from but dont use greentree caravan store at east dereham in norfolk they messed my caravan up & it may be rote off you need to use some one who just dose coachwork have a word with your insurance.you could put a false vent over your dent i wish i had done that.

Try Chips Away. The number in Leicester is 0797 3366298 and Market Harborough is

01858 410192/0797 4137205. I assume it's a franchise so there may be one in your area. The Leicester branch did a great job on my van after the awning blew away in a storm and the poles went through the aluminium panels.

Hi Peter, You don't say how bad your dents are or how it happened, but we had someone dent our caravan in storage(don't know who or how) so we informed the insurance and a new panel was installed, at no cost to us. Might be worth a try first!!
