Detachable tow bars

I need to fit a tow bar to my 2002 VW Passat Estate. My preference is for a Bosal or Westfalia detachable one. My caravan, a 1991 Bessacar Cameo has a Westfalia SSK Hitch lock fitted and I have been told that there may not be enough gap between the bumper and the tow ball if I use the detachable tow bar. has anyone any idea if this is correct. Both the Bosal and Westfalia can be used with Alko and Winterhoff stabilisers so does this mean that there is enough clearance for my Westfalia. I do not want to buy the detachable only to find it is not suitable. If I cannot use a detachable, is there any dofference in the clearance between a Flange or a swan neck fitting?

To my knowledge, all detachable swan neck towbars have adequate clearance for AlKo or Winterhoff couplings.
