A dialect poem for Lord Braykewynde

Iwish I was a bod

Ah do upon mi wod

Ah'd sit agen another Bod

and never say a wod

If you come from my neck of the woods you'll understand this!

Got it in one!

Perhaps a few other well known phrases;

ayagorrawiya

ooworriwee

sitheear

ahlbatyotab

Not quite Clipstone (Clipston') but still in the same coalfield!

I must admit that when I went into a cake shop in Sheffield, asking for an apple pie --- I was offered a loaf of bread!!! Was it me being too, dare I say it, posh? Still live on the outskirts of Sheffield and to this day I cannot understand that offering!
