Hi, I am thinking of fitting a Diesel air heater in the Caravan front storage box of my 2017 Swift a
Alpine 2, there is plenty of room to put the Air heater to the left side of the storage box and the 6kg propane cylinder to the right. Would it be recommended????????

Definitely a no no putting a diesel fuelled heater in the vicinity of your propane cylinder. Probably the worst unsafe suggestions I’ve heard in years.

It is definitely not a good idea to put such a device, you should not have any thing that could be a source of ignition inside the gas bottle locker.

One other thing you may not realise is how (relatively speaking) noise these diesel heaters are. I presume you gas on board, I think you would be as well off using the inbuilt heater in the caravan, why spend more?

Thank you very much, it is as I thought, I will stick with the propane. I have a diesel heater in my work shop and it is very efficient.

Propex make heaters for caravans, motorhomes and boats. They do various options wrt gas and/or electric. I had one in a French made caravan, and it was very effective. They are made in Britain and Propex have excellent customer service and technical advice.
You haven’t said what heater you have in the van., I guess you suggested diesel on the grounds of running costs.
