Diesel Tuning

I expect this topic has been on here many times but are there any clear favorites in the diesel tuning box market. I was currently favouring a DTE tuning box for my Vectra 3.0TDi estate. Any info would be useful. Also has anyone had bad experiences by fitting these devices.
 
Hi James,

You should always be wary of performance boxes or re chipping engines.

The car manufactures only design the rest of the drive train to cope with the standard engine, so more power/torque may work towards premature failure of some components.

Some performance hikes change the the cars emmisios and that may lead to MOT failures.

The change may invalidate any manufactures guarantee, and you must inform your insurer as you have modified your car.
 
Hello James,very surprised you need one,but thats your choice.Although they work in a fashion,they are very crude,and basically a resister pack.The other problem is the knockon effect on the driveline.If the driveline wasnt an issue the best bet would be a proper Recalibration(remap)of the affected control unit in your case EDC.A plus point is the recal is undetectable to say a service centre.
 
Hi I decided to go for a retune and used Angel Tuning. Overal performance improved and so did the towing performance - considerably. Car just passed MOT with no problems. Angel Tuning were great, the cost was
