Digital TV coverage in north Scotland

Does anyone know if digital TV can be received in the Gairloch area of Scotland? We are prepared to but a satellite dish if required. Any information appreciated.

The Wolfbane site has a very useful map

as well as a reception predictor which can take a caravan's low aerial into account

DigitalUK is the main body promoting digital TV - be wary about it's over-optimism. It's predictor assumes a 10m high domestic size aerial - caravan sites get worse reception.
Coll

we are in Skye and the tourers we get on our site have no probs with reception, so we are just across the water, you'll also find that you may get a freeview signal from Stornoway

The main transmitter for that part of Scotland is on Lewis, in the Western Isles - if there's no high ground in between you'll be ok.

Fab - the Broch and Blue Toon are in digital dead spots - presumably you'll get local fill-in transmitters before the switchover.

For others on the forum that's Fraserburch and Peterhead.

Fraserburgh - I can spell, my typing's carp.

Hi Rodger yes we Brochers don't get digital currently, checked with my tech head best mate! But as long as the Blue Tooners don't have it either thats ok! If they did there would be a riot!!

We can get digital on Lower Deeside as we can actually see the transmitter but Upper Deeside and parts of Aberdeen city don't!

I'm not too impressed with digital, there is a significant time delay and the lipsynch can be awful.
