Dirty site

Booked in at the Swan Inn Caravan Club CL site in Thetford yesterday for a few days. Been there before many times and was shocked at the state of the site. Full of dogs Pooh. Had to clear a path for the van before setting up. I was not happy to say the least but we had to stay as we had an appointment that day. I complained to the staff who was apologetic.Next morning I looked out and caught a dog peeing up the side of my van it then walked a few paces away and promptly did a number two by the side of the van. That was it. We packed up and left after having a strong discussion with the landlord. We forfeited the rest of the stay as I just could not stay there another night. It was disgusting. We will never go there again. Its a shame as we used to like it there.

We had a similar experience at a C&CC CS at Pleasley near Mansfield.
We pulled onto the site and another vanner shouted "watch where you step when you get out".
Sure enough there were dumps. This was a farm and despite the owners being nice people I pointed it out to them because I hate the thought of people thinking it's our two pooches. It didn't make any difference though, the dogs still roamed around. It was the Jack Russells dumps I was worried about because they were the same size as our dogs and I didn't want them blamed. At least with their Rotties dumps you could see the hillock and ours couldn't be accused of passing such monstrosities

Quite often we come across CLs where the owner's dogs are allowed to roam free and do their business where they feel like doing it with no apology from the owner. On one CL we even had the owner's dog jump over our windbreak to attack our dogs which are Yorkies.
On once occasion we had popped down the road for some groceries and on our return the owner's dog was jumping up against the side of the caravan trying to get to our dogs which were inside the caravan. Luckily we were able to polish out the scatches.
We no longer use the site.

it seems to be getting more common these days , with dogs running loose , i even saw a few at the PC rally earlier in the year at Stowford , i have a small helmet cam that i clip to my window , so i can film them , one place we stayed at they had visitors with a large dog , which proceeded to run around the site when they got out the car , it got within 20 feet of our van and had crap , so i went out and said are you going to clean that up , they came over no applogy and cleaned it up , after the visitors had gone the next morning , i said to the guy good morning , but he completely blanked me ,

They would have to employ a army of inspectors to monitor the fowling of CC sites by dogs that the owners two lazy to take to the dog walk, the gras patches between hard standings stank of dog wee on our recent ventures.
