Hi again

I've only owned a caravan since september and i have a slight water leak from under the mixer tap, its the push fit type of connections, does anyone know how these can be disconnected and if i need a new tap ?? the caravan is a Elddis 534 (2001)

Thanks Tony (novice)

Tony I do not know if you need a new tap or not it will of course depend on what is leaking. I do not know what access you have to the tap/connecter and if the tap is easy to get to but the normal way to remove the pipe is as follows. If you look at the connecter where the pipe enters you will see a collar, get a open spanner as close a fit to the pipe and push the collar towards the connecter and at the same time pull the pipe away. The secret is pushing the collar, the further it is up the pipe the more secure the pipe is. Hope this helps if not scream others on this forum may know better. Good luck. JTS

Hi Tony, the description given by JTS is spot on.

A friend of ours had a problem with the shower mixing tap in his Swift.

I supplied him with 2 straight connectors and end plugs so that when he had removed the offending tap he could blank off the pipes and still use his caravan.

It saves the caravan being out of use while waiting for parts.
