Hi All,

Has anyone got the All New Discovery (D5)?

And more importantly have you towed your caravan with it yet? We are very curious to find out a comparison to the outgoing D4, can it be as good?
We are hoping to upgrade our D4 but would love to see a tow report before committing

Hi Darren and welcome to the forum!

The Discovery 5 was one of the cars we put through their paces at our Tow Car Awards test week last week. The results of this will be in our August 2017 magazine, on sale 15 June. Sorry, but I can't say any more until then!

The Disco 5 is sold out for months once production starts. Deliveries start September I understand from the recent pre launch event we attended.

At that event lots of D4 owners were going to not bother with the D5. It's smaller in the cabin, especially shoulder room in the front and leg room in the middle row is shorter. Lots of gadgets, but no use if you have larger mobile phones to charge.

I'd advise a MB, not being biased having just taken delivery of a new GLE 350. Wonder how it faired in the recent tests?

You've also missed the VED change so that'll be £450 a year going forward for vehicles over £40k 😛
 
Can your at least give me an indication how it performed? We cannot wait until June to order as we would like it before our summer hols!

Sorry, but I can't give anything away! However, as you can see from our tow car reviews, as its predecessor and stablemates the Jaguar F-Pace and the Discovery Sport all performed well when tested, it is unlikely to be a bad tow car!

Deliveries started a few weeks ago!
 
Its quite normal for order books to be full for the initial release. The order/deposit for these cars are normally made without knowing the final price, you are getting your name on the list.
From what i have read and talk at launch events quite a few have been shocked at the big increase in price and orders cancelled so the dealer will specc them and use as stock or immediate delivery cars?
Quite a few for sale on Autotrader, the first edition 600 is £76k :huh:
