Do we need to get the locks and chains out

We have just come back from a week at the new Centenary site in the New Forrest which was wet at first but turned out to be a really good place to go, we had a great time and the wardens made us feel very welcome.

We then moved up to Bladdon Chains near Bleniem Palace and the weather turned out to be brilliant so we were set for another good week. On the 3rd night there at around 9:30 pm the light came on for the pump and as we weren't using it I just got up and turned the switch off and didn't think anymore of it.

The next morning I got up to go for my usual run but went to the toilet first. While walking back to the caravan I noticed that my Aquaroll, hose and handle had gone, luckily the pump the pump was still there. I thought at first that someone had sneaked through the bushes and taken it but then I had a bad feeling that it may have been someone on the site. I can't prove that so I would like to think it was just someone taking a chance while they were in the area.

I reported it to the wardens and they seemed as shocked as we were. They said they had never had anything stole from the site before. The people around us were very helpful as well one couple even offering to lend us their spare container. We bought a new Aquaroll but also some locks and chains to ensure it didn't happen again.

It left a bitter taste in our mouths and went some way to spoiling the holiday so watch out.

Recently saw an Aquaroll, handle and Wastemaster which had been given a few spray painted stripes in day-glo orange. Rather off putting to see but with this sort of thing going on maybe it's they way to go. Perhaps the registration number written on with permanent marker would do the trick.
