Does a porch awning need to go over the door....?

...or can it go further down and be used as a 'utility room'? The reason I ask is we are thinking of buying a small fridge to give us more food storage, and this would be kept outside in the main awning; however on weekends we don't take that and i thought a porch could sit over the electric socket and house the fridge, shoes and coats etc without taking up masses of space or weight.

You can put porch awnings where you like, Dame Crazyguider

Some people use them on the off-side in winter to keep the Aquaroll from freezing, or over the toilet cassette door when heavy rain is expected so you don't get so wet when emptying.

IF YOU WANT TO PUT IT ON THE OTHER SIDE. CHECK WITH THE SITE OFFICE BECAUSE IT MAY CONTRAVENE THE SITES FIRE REGULATIONS.
