You will only get a GOOD LONG SHOWER if you are prepared to carry the water and return the waste .

The storage type of water heater works well if you wet yourself thoroughly switch off, soap up.switch on and rinse.

The Truma heater can be used on gas and electric at the same time thus giving more HOT water to be mixed with the cold.

To have a really long shower would require a bigger hot water storage tank and someone standing by to top up the aquaroll/empty the waste water OR large capacity tanks such as found on large motor homes.

Carver running on gas does it for us, we get a fair supply of water (Power shower style might be a problem) and it always runs hot. We have two on board water tanks and a large and small aquaroll and mains connection and drainage set-up for whenever we can use it,so then there is no problem with the water supply or disposal.

Euro I can't understand how you can get more than 2 gallons of hot water as it takes about 30 minutes to heat the tank through.

I read the original posting as wanting LOTS of hot water.

We can get 2 good showers out of a Carver/Truma water heater but only by the

"The storage type of water heater works well if you wet yourself thoroughly switch off, soap up.switch on and rinse." method

We use gas and electric at the same time to maintain hat water for as long as possible

I changed the shower head for a very fine needle like spray, it works fine for us and we never run out of heated water using it.

The shower in our Coachman Pastiche is excellent. We use it every day on site. From one 40 litre aquaroll, we get two good, hot showers. Prior to showering, the bathroom is brought up to a really warm temperature. Straight from bed to a hot shower in a warm bathroom is sheer bliss. And this is any time of the year.

No using the site showers for us, no matter how clean and good they are. If anything, the overall time span is also shorter than using the site showers.

40 litres of water gives us 2 very good showers as well. Plenty of hot water and the comfort of my own van to get dressed in.

I can't be doing with damp floors, damp feet and hopping about trying to put your socks on. The idea of communal shaving is also a no no.

We have a Truma heater. Having the gas and electric on won't make that much difference to the hot water levels if you have two in quick succession. You can have as many tanks of cold as you want but the number of showers will still be limited to the amount of hot water you have got unless you are a macho sort who likes to start the day with a cold shower.

However, I have no doubt there is someone out there who tops up the aquaroll with a kettle of boiling water or two.

If you don't mind using a little more water, then change the submersible pump for a larger size. My van came with a Whale 600 series which I changed for a 900 and the effect on the shower is wonderful. With a needle type shower head you won't use all that much more, but it will feel like it.

Good tip, Ray S. I'll check my pump model.
