Dog friendly cottages

Guess we will be looking for dog friendly cottages within the next week or so. Did a search and numerous websites popped up, but some appear to be web addresses for other long established organisation. Just sorting out the chaff.

A goodly number of cottage booking sites come under one large holiday company. Airbnb ones tend to be private lets. For statics there are booking sites and I look for accommodation on “private land” compared to holiday parks.

The AirBnB units are the same or more expensive when you add on the AirBnB and cleaning charges.

It was only a suggestion, but if AirbnB are sometimes the same, then there’s not a problem. Costing our trip to Germany in September good hotel accommodation is significantly cheaper than UK, but of course there are some add ons like Shuttle, breakdown cover and travel insurance. We are a very expensive society.

We book with either Sykes Cottages or Cottage.com with pet - friendly options and always ask for enclosed garden for our dog .
At present Sykes cottages got a good deal on 3 nights for 2 on selected properties so book a short break .

We have used Sykes for three cottages since we sold the caravan, and all were good. At one time you could get 10% off if you linked to Sykes via the Dogs Trust. Also used VBRO, Bookings.com, Uk caravans for hire, and two dog friendly pubs by direct bookings. I think places seem more dog friendly post Covid. Forest Holidays have nice lodges in woodlands around UK, they are owned by Sykes.
