Doggy days.

My daughter had to say goodbye to this old girl earlier this week. 16 years old. Deaf, toothless, and just started losing control of her bowels.





Lots of sad people.

My son and his wife just nipped off to the Carrabian today so we are babysitting this no so old girl.



She won't settle yet and keeps staring out of the door.





We have had her before so I think she will be OK.

A grandson has been training his newish puppies.

Weve "been there" twice now and to lose a member of your family is so heart breaking.
1 at 5 years ago,2nd at 18 months ago.
For myself and wife,it hasnt got any easier.

Its not easy when a family pet departs, takes time to come to terms with the loss. both for humans and animals alike, We can empathize with you and hope your daughter is soon happy remembering all the good times.

It was very hard for them, but they knew they had no choice. Also, they had a trip to the far east booked where they are now. My daughter and her husband were both with her when the final injection was administered.

By far the kindest and most loving thing you can do for a pet, when the time comes. Horrible experience at the time, but hope all can look back with positive memories.

Our dog sitting is going fine but she is a bit pampered. And does not like the rain or even getting her feet wet.

Regarding my daughter, whose dog had to be put down. She is now on her far east tour number 2. On tour number 1, pre covid. They visited an island where they had to paddle the last 100 yards in 2 feet of water. She got stung in the ankle by a ray. Our local hospital only just removed the sting a month ago.

Today, she walked into a bar and did not see the dog. She stood on him and he bit back. Not sure if it's the same ankle. They took her to the hospital on the back of a scooter with a police escort.

She seems OK. Rabies jab tomorrow.

Supplemental.

Daughter had 3 injections the next day, needs another in 3 days then in 7 days then lastly when they get back to England. They could have had optional rabies jabs before going but declined as they thought they were not going to go near to dogs.

Youngest son, is unfortunately going through a divorce, and has mentioned he may have to give up his dog. So maybe we might be taking over another 2 year old a wire haired Dashund .

That will keep you active. There are a couple of young ones near us and I see them in the woods, they are here there and everywhere , and with smashing temperaments.

Reminded me of around 30 years ago and my Labrador with my son's Dachshund. So funny together. The video is a bit old by today's standards.

My wife is absolutely smitten with the pooch, it could merit its own Instagram account. I bet it’s a real character. Now my wife has taken note of the breed we might have a problem when our 15.5 year old Springer crosses “ the rainbow bridge” for us to go dogless.
