Some people have to much time bothering what doggys and others are doing, just KEEP THE NOISE DOWN and keep the kids under control and most of us will be as happy as PIgs in SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSure that's another story

i ve just got back from reighton sands in Filey. Parked on the tourers field , close to the loos( mistake) and close to the play ground.

All the kids were very well behaved, but the dog owners.... i caught one , on a lead (the dog , no the owner) pi££ing up my awning guy line.... come on people , show a little respects, after confronting the woman who admitted she usually stays on CC sites because they offer better facilities, i asked her , " yup , must have more pi££ing posts for your dog.

Many of the owners did however take their dogs for walk and dump on the Tent field..... nice.

Lack of consistency I am afraid, we own a number of holiday lets and charge for pets, the majority of pet owners are responsible, but it only needs one bad one to screw things up..........same with children........a returnable deposit works best......regards Andrew

I assume that this site from your post didn't have a dog walk?
Most dog owners, at least those with more than ten brain cells, choose their sites on whether there is a dog walk or not. It's not too hard to research whether there's a dog walk or even how good a walk it is. There are forums to ask and if one still can't get an answer just email the site or pick up the phone

I've yet to go to a site without a dog walk although with some using the term 'dog walk' leaves a bit to be desired. Bladon Chains is one. We had to walk the dogs in the lane because the dog walk was, yes, full of dog dumps and the walk itself was only about 100 yards and so muddy they had spread straw along it which was handy for the morons to kick over their dogs foulings. Both of us trod in dog mess the first time we took ours for a walk. The morons should have their noses rubbed in it

I think this comes under the heading of 'respect for others' - I for one recognise that not everyone likes dogs or want's them close by - so we alway's use CL's as our two Border Collies come along - CL's don't tend to have 'dog walks' but they usually have open countryside adjacent (most owners are happy to point out where you can take dog's for exercise) and if they do charge for a dog its pretty nominal - I usually look on Google Earth and OS maps to see what the lie of the land is before we book - so far out of 8 x CL's have never had a problem !
Once stayed on a commercial site with a dog walk - UGhhh !

Hi,
On more than one occasion, walking dog along canal towpath, I have trodden on a big leaf adroitly layed of a lump of dog "exhaust". The effect is similar to treading on a banana skin.

Well !!!! i really started something here, all make very interesting reading though. Just been out with the dog on the local park for a run. Spotted her doing something among the trees so shot across with bag in hand to pick up whatever was there. Have you ever tried to find something of that colour among millions and millions of leaves, all about the same colour ,good fun. It took a while but i got it eventualy. Happy hunting all you dog owners.

Well I have two greyhounds who come with me in my caravan. They are NEVER intentionally allowed out of the caravan until they have their leads on (I say intentionally, Judy has gotten away from me on a couple of occasions but she's the dog version of Houdini, but she was immediately caught). While walking my dogs on site I do not let them on anyone elses pitch. If there's a dog walk it seems usually that it's a dog walk made for a chihuaua 'cos three strides of my dogs' legs and they're at the other end! However we do try our best to make sure every toilet visit takes place on the dog walk, and if not, always cleared up.

In contrast, before I had them, and I holidayed in a VW Baywindow campervan, on one occasion I saw a guy get up during the night, go behind someone else's tent and pee up it. On another occasion, the tent next to us had a little side door close to our awning, every time their toddler pee'd in the potty, the door would open and the potty be emptied onto the grass right there. Some people are DISGUSTING!

I am now permenently touring and this is a big problem, I have my own way of dealing with irresponsible dog owners, if they do their business on my pitch (which of course I have paid for) I politely ask them not to allow that to happen again, if it does then I'm afraid plan B comes into force which is X-LAX these tasty morsels of chocolate are placed all around the edges of my pitch, and I can assure you I do not have repeats.

What about all the poor wildlife

I think it's the irresponsible owners you need to offer your choccy delights

Can I add my bit as a none doggy person.
We stayed a week on a site in Somerset and one afternoon we had a stroll in the dog walking area, we found it clean and a pleasant place to have a stroll.
The owners had two of there own dogs and we did see other people with there's.
Oh how lovely it would be to take you pet on holiday and in the evening to snuggle up to it and watch the TV, but as we do not have a dog I will have to just be content with my Pat.
Reg
