Domaine de Dugny

thinking of going to domaine de dugny next august, with 2 boys aged 13 and 15,any comments please good or bad thanks

We stayed there, but just overnight, a couple of years ago. It has very big pitches, quite shady, and easily accessed. The pool area is OK (not as big as it looks in the photos). There's a small bar, restaurant and take-away, with a limited menu. The toilet blocks are clean but the shower cubicles are very small indeed. It's a long walk into the nearest village which has a couple of bars and a small supermarket.

We were there in late August and it was VERY quiet. If I'm perfectly honest it isn't the sort of site I would take teenage boys to. It's a long way from the village, and it isn't a site with a lot to keep them interested. I had teenage boys myself once. We stayed at Dugny to meet one of them, then aged 25, and recover our camping equipment which he had borrowed to go to Biarritz surfing. He and five other large young men managed to stay in two tents on an adjacent pitch to us, together with their cars and motorbikes.

Opinions may differ on this site, however, and I suppose all teenage boys are not alike and some want different things to others.

We stayed at Domaine de Dugny three years ago for a week in September. I agree with Val's comments basically. However in September it was even quieter. Just a few seasonals left. To be honest the pitches were in poor condition then. Probably as a result of the seasons use. Did not use the restaurant as it looked a bit unappetising. I have to say it was not one of my better choices! I wish we had gone another 30 minutes to Le Moulin Fort at Chenonceaux. but we had a good holiday it was just not our sort of site
