I think our fridge was a General Electric. Small shoe box size freezer. It was bought before 1949 so grandparents were quite posh. The fridge was still going strong in nineties as my uncle was using it. Not sure what happenned to it after he sold up and moved out of the family home.

This old dog can speak with first hand knowledge,.
The last two weeks in North Norfolk my sister stayed in an old converted barn. Lovely place, Five beds , four bathrooms. Water from a spring, very very slow flow, electricity from a wind turbine , that stop quite a lot, and heating from a heat pump system.
The lace was like an ice box two weeks ago, 16.5 C. Sis asked the owner to up the temp. He said it takes 24 hours to raise it one deg C. So he upped it. Next day it was 17. Next day 17.5. Then it got sunnier and warmer and heating not required. Ugh! You can’t turn it
down!
It takes days!
What absolute rubbish🤬🤬🤬
