Dometic RC1700 on offer

Just had an email from Leisureshopdirect.com for the Dometic RC1700 3 way fridge on sale at £141 until stock last.
Im nothing to do with the company just passing on a good offer.

It may well be an absorbtion unit but it is still classed as a coolbox as it has a top hinged lid , not an opening door as in refigerators.

So why is the RC1600 classed as a fridge ? which has the same 3 way technology as the RC1700 an opening lid, but has smaller capacity.

It is not, simple.
All RC denominations are cooling boxes, but they work on the absorption principle like the RM series which are fridges.

A very simple analogy is a Mini is not a Rolls Royce, but it still uses a petrol engine.

Depends how far you want to split hairs.
If you mean any item which cools food is a fridge, no it is not misleading.
If you need to order spares, yes it is misleading, or at least time consuming having the wrong designation or description.
If you mean can it be fitted into a caravan, no it cannot. It must be used outside in the air if using gas to power it.
If you mean does it have a separate freezer compartment, no it does not, just a removable ice tray in some models.

Exactly how far do you want to spIit hairs~ by definition a coolbox is a way of cooling food but could also be a fridge lol
Should of said
If you want to cool and keep food/drink cool by means of gas,12v or electric in temps of up to 30 C this is a very good offer.
