Can someone help me here before I go mad , our Dometic RMD8851 fridge freezer just stopped working about a month ago, it was working the previous week although we did have a slight glitch for it to choose which source we wanted which was 240 mains . There is no blue light inside fridge, no lights on the front panel/PCB , checked fuses, there's 12v DC at the plug and 240 AC at the plug . After doing some research I first changed the control unit at the back for a new one which didn't make a difference, s decided to send the front control panel off to be tested which was fine. That has now been fitted the weekend but still nothing. I believe the panel, interior light is operated by the 12v feed, I'm wondering if there is a hidden in line fuse on this model ?

We have the identical fridge. Firstly do you have 12v to the control panel as that is the normal issue. A common issue is condensation on a PCB which then corrodes the print. This causes an open circuit. I am going by what I have read on various forums as the RM8xx1 is a standrd fit in Buccaneer caravans. Touch wood ours is okay.

Thanks for the reply , I can only assume that two parts of the circuit board on panel was replaced by professional electronics engineer and is tested as fully working . As the power from control box is ribbon wire I'm not sure as to which of those tiny wires would be testable unless I test the circuit board with all plugged in .

Take the P860 brick off and see if it’s scorched in the left hand corner looking from the back.

Also the front boards can go, this leaves you with no function
I've replaced the brick with a brand new one and fitted it which made no difference. The PCB board panel I sent off to a company that tests and repairs caravan electronics , they changed two components and was tested to be ok and so they returned it to me which I fitted last weekend . Still nothing at all. Only thing I can think of is the PCB board actually repaired properly? Reviews were good and it wasn't cheap , in fact I may as well spent an extra £90 and bought a new one . I could do with finding a way to test for power on the PCB but it's not easy. I will check power in and out 12v tomorrow as I've only tested the power at the plugs . Thanks for your comment 👍
