Door closing

Hi all,

Having a slight but annoying problem. Locking the vans' door. It closes O.K. but only to the first latch, the problem occurs when it comes to locking the door, its a stable type door by the way, its like the rubber moulding is to thick. It's not to bad when we go out because I can lean on the door and lock it but at night I have to heave on the handle to get into the second position to lock the door. I'm afraid that one night I might pull the handle off!!

So guys any suggestions?

Hi, Idris,

Just found similar problem on my (recently purchased)Avondale Osprey.

It seems that if the door latch is stiff, then the pressure of shutting the door bends the frame inwards where the catch is fitted. A bit of 'heave-ho' to bring the frame back straight and a little lubricant on the door latch should cure your problem.

Good luck!!!
