door hinges

the door higes on my van are tightening up, so when i open the door it puts a strain on the side panel, i have tried wd40 but it dosen't seem to penetrate--will i need new hinges??
 
Are they stiff if you open only the top or bottom and not the whole door,if so the hinges are out of line(not that likely)more likely water ingress around the door frame distorting the frame and causing the two halves to scissor.
