Hi Steve caravan looks stunning 🙏
Thanks,
It nearly didn’t on our way here - almost got to site when some complete unmentionable in a dark green Volvo Shooting Brake tried to underline the fact that he does actually thinks he owns the road , both sides of it ( the A607 to be precise),
However, he incurred my displeasure by means of sign language and colourful gestures…..

This is a cracking site, just had scampi and chips from a van that comes to site - which after a long day was right royally polished off with aplomb.

Air awning up without divorce nor smashed knuckles too!

Will add photos to the link as we go along.

Hutch, it may not be necessary, I had the same back in 2001 in both hands, they operated on the worst one first, in my case the left and the right one they said may well heal as well, it did and touch wood no probs since. Good luck either way.
Thanks Kev that gives me more hope. First two fingers right hand just tingle, palm area good, left hand not so bad.
At least I can sleep without tranquilisers. 🥴

My son had to have both his operated on and he thinks it was due to his motorcycling especially long haul rides with little movement of the hand. The procedures were successful and he has had no loss of decertify or strength. So hopefully yours go as well.

Thanks OC, it's been 3 1/2 weeks since right hand was done, yes motorcycling and also being a hands on Engineer for 60 years has done it's damage. But starting to feel better.

Nipped out today and into Melton Mowbray for a wander about.
Steeped in history ( the town, not me) although the church was not open to the public today so I wasn’t able to take photos inside.
On behalf of the Forum I did carry out some extensive research and can indeed confirm that Melton Mowbray pies are most palatable.
Added just a few photos to the album.

Been out and about today… it’s been very blustery overnight and throughout the day but the air awning has held fast.
We went to have a look around Market Harborough followed by a lovely drive across country via the B664 to Oakham …. would love to ride that route on a motorbike!
En route to Oakham we drove through a little village called Sutton and the church there looked so picturesque that I turned round and went back to take a couple of photos.
A nice day out and now back at Eye Kettleby Lakes enjoying a drink and reading a book.
Numerous photos uploaded to the album.

The B664 is a bit of an East Midlands classic.

Out again today, this time to Rutland followed by a visit to the very pretty market town of Stamford.
The weather gods were with us today and as such I took the opportunity to take a few more snaps and add them to the gallery.

Also, following my superb singing in the shower, I am now just waiting for the site team to invite me to entertain the rest of the guests with my vast repertoire of vocal prowess….
Rumours of a “difference of opinion” regarding my singing had nothing to do with the split up of my group, Vince and the Tone deafs…. I felt it was time for me to move on to progress my career…..

Did you miss the Hambleton Bakery at Exton nearby Oakham? What a superb cafe with indoor and outdoor seating and wonderful bread and fancies to take away! I have no connection with the company’s other than an empty plate on several occasions!

We did but thanks for the tip, I feel further research is required.

Sat having half a lager in the bar on our last evening here at Eye Kettleby lakes.
Highlights of the holiday have been our visits to several of the local market towns, especially Stamford, along with a nice time spent at the very picturesque Rutland water.
Eye Kettleby Lakes is a fabulous site, spotless everywhere and generous size pitches, with a very good bar and restaurant.
Heading home tomorrow morning, waiting for the morning rush hour to subside before we set off and avoiding the bin lorries in the village when we get there.

Cheers all.

Home now, no problem with the drive all the way home until I got into the close where we live - parked up outside the house which is at the end of the close.
Got out to disengage car from caravan so I could get the caravan on the drive and some yoof tried to drive past me just so he could pull up outside the house opposite ours.

I “strongly advised “ him to rethink and suggested he used the ample parking available behind the caravan and that he could “use his legs” to carry him the rest of the way to the front door of the house where he was going to collect his girlfriend ( my neighbour’s daughter.)

Somehow I don’t think he will be troubling me again, because if he does, he may run the gauntlet of incurring my displeasure.

Very possibly- for me it’s right up there with my other two favourite sites: Back of Beyond ( back there at the end of next month), and Old Oaks.
