We booked to go to a local campsite for the August Bank Holiday weekend. We picked our pitch when we stayed there last in July this year and offered to pay a deposit but the owner said pay when you arrive, as we had been there afew times we thought this would be ok. For some reason don't know what we decided to go there the night before we were due to arrive and check everything was ok, we got told by the owner he thought we were with somebody else that was already there and had double booked our pitch these people were due to arrive the same day as us. We seen the bookings chart which was all in pencil so we couldn't argue as our name wasn't on there yet it was in July. They didn't have anything else left so we came home and that was the end of our weekend. Has anyone else had this happen to them? Next time we will definately leave a deposit.
