Dover port programme

Hi ,
Did anyone watch this on wednesday night channel 4 at 9pm this week ? It was intersesting to see how the ports work between dover and calais on the ferrys for those off us who go touring abroad , unbelievable how busy the 2o miles off ocean between us is with different ships . next week is behind the scenes off the shuttle .

We have only used the Dover Calais route once but were impressed by how efficiently they work.

That could change after March 2019. I understand that HMG have told ports which tend to either be private or council owned that they could require major extensions to their areas for checking vehicles. Dover and Plymouth have said this would probably require obtaining land inland away from the urban area and then developing it. What stops vehicles absconding remains to be seen. Some in Plymouth favoured just closing it down!
