Down the drain ,or not !

Is it just me or do the designers/manufacturers of equipment for caravans never use caravans themselves.

The sink in my Abbey is round,no problem with that, but the bottom is flat so you need to get the perfectly level for it to empty properly,if they had the plug hole in the middle with the bottom slightly dished it would always drain no matter how un level the van is,the same applies to the shower tray.

What things like this annoy you.

If Alex and co are reading this perhaps this is another thing they could investigate on our behalf.

Door size! Why can't designers of caravans make the door just a few inches wider? Wear a coat or be a little unsteady getting into a van and you end up ripping the door seal off. I'm not paticularly wide, but I seem to have to enter and exit sideways.

Does this count as promotion to grumpy old man?

'or be a little unsteady getting into a van' - why don't you fit a stair lift and grab rail to your van?

Loose the coat - wear a Barbour bodywarmer instead.

Hope my suggestions help.

Just thought of another one, marry a crab then you can both walk sideways.

How about the raised section of the doorframe which you have to step over on leaving the van. Mine is only about 2 inches high but is still a lethal design flaw.

Mine has the cold water tank under seats at the back, the cold water is piped all the way to the water heater under the bed at the front, and then piped all the way back to the kitchen and washroom in the middle. Go figure?

The day I fix a stair lift and grab rail to the side of the van

is the day I............hmmm, thats not a bad idea, wonder if Stannah does lifts for caravans..?

Not sure about the crab idea, smells a bit fishy to me..

Yup, I know, i will be getting out more at Easter.....

Looks like I may have opened a can of worms,do others have the same problem with the sink.

With regards to the door width I am a bit concerned that you all have some sort of cctv and know that I am as wide as I am broad!

Joking apart ( whose joking ) there must be lots of things that designers could improve if they themselves were caravanners, come on PC get stuck in to them, that is of course if you are really caravanners yourselves?
