Came back from Cornwall, one of the sunniest weeks every on 17th May .
Fell foul of a mobile speed camera 52 in a 40.
To my surprised have been offered driver retraining course, either attending a class room or an I.T course.

Has anyone done one of these I,T courses, are they easy to enter how are they formulated??

My Lappy and I have a kind of love hate relationship.

Ive not done a IT driver awareness course but have used internet meetings and presentations/webinars stuff with the NHS appeals boards, and other bodies. They all seem to be similar to set up. You register, give details etc and they send you link that becomes active a short while before the event starts. At the pre scheduled time you become live and just start to listen to the speaker, and some are interactive immediately whilst others are speaker first then questions later. Some will require you to download Teams, or Zoom which are the enabling program applications, others don't require it. Perhaps ask the Force how their IT option works, it will doubtless be undertaken by a contractor.

I did the course at a local Fire Station before Covid and before you could do it online.

It takes just under 4 hours. They gave us a couple of breaks , tea /coffee etc.
Personally I found the live course very informative and believe it or not enjoyable.

Watching their videos at home I think you will miss out on the inter action with the other scallywag speedsters by going to a centređŸ€Ș

Heck of a drive back to Cornwall when the online option is available. Guess you can’t claim expenses either đŸ˜±

Plus 1, for the live course, what surprised myself was how many others on the course didn't know what maximum speeds people should be at when driving in urban areas and on dual carriageways.

Did you mean offline!

At one time you had to do the live course in the area you were caught. But that changed some years ago. I was caught in South Wales but did the course locally. Like Dusty, I found it informative and interesting. Even enjoyable. The presenters made it clear at the begining that there was no point in complaining to them that you were innocent.

Daughter got caught driving in a rural area where there was a short 30mph zone. Not many houses around at all. She did it Online.

My speeding was in Cornwall. They allowed me to go to Cirencester Fire Station. They’re not totally heartless. Well six years ago they were ok. Best Dave asks?

That’s good having a degree of flexibility of location. If that’s available to Dave what save him anxiety over the online option, or a drive back to Cornwall.
