Dreaded 'Sahara dust '

I washed and polished the both the car and van to perfection on Saturday, ready for first run out of the year this weekend. But after overnight rain/drizzle they were filthy again with dust/sand! Had to do it all over again on Sunday - not amused as I hate cleaning the van roof! Did anyone else notice it (in the south of England)?

Yep, it got me too - in Buckinghamshire.

I left my car outside and the sand looked rather like the sand near my office in Rotterdam - so I took my contribution back with me this morning - don't want Zuid Holland to just blow away.

What does one learn from that? Don't bother to wash the car

Lutz, as a technical man, you should know that no car and caravan can be considered a stable outfit unless said vehicles are meticulously cleaned and polished. Everyone knows that dirty outfits mean high drag coefficiency, vastly increased CO2 emissions, higher fuel consumption and instability due to the dirt factor that is never present on showroom models. You know it makes sense...

Glad it was dirty rain as I bought a second Caravan for storing in Spain and it had small leak at the front, a run of dirty rain down the front showed me exactly where it was coming from: 5 feet from the soft spot.
