With some taps you can replace the sealing washer, but with ones like mine you cant so it needs a replacement tap.

what type of tap is it?

I had a problem with the kitchen tap in our avondale at the beginning of the year. Ours is the mixer tap type, when I turned the pump on it leaked badly from under the lever you use to turn it on and off. I got a new cartridge off ebay for about 6 quid and all sorted. Its a pretty easy job to replace, took me about 15 minutes

Yes, its a mixer tap over kitchen sink. We have a swift 91 challenger if that helps.

Just looks a tap to me...it does drip from the tap and not from the knobs of which there is one either side...

If you want to attempt to repair this is how I did mine, On top of the lever of the tap there should be a small round cover about the size of a 5p, this should pop off to reveal a small hole down the middle of the lever, at the bottom of the hole is a small screw which holds the lever onto the tap, remove the screw and the lever lifts off, you should be able to see a big nut (mine was brass) which secures the cassette in the tap body this was the bit I replaced.

I found that you could get them for caravan taps, but this meant they were 2 or 3 time more expensive and are identical to ones for domestic use, just be carefull when buying one as there are several sizes.

I think this is like the one I got
