Driven: Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain

If you don't like SUVs but want four-wheel drive with more than a dash of luxury, there's a lot to like about the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain. Please click here to read our first drive.

Oh dear, I know I'm not but I feel as if I'm getting old. Took one look at the photographs and my first thought was that I'd manage without the 4x4 and have a W124 E class. I'm sure for the lovers of the up to date look it would be a fantastic bit of kit.

Nice car but who would use such a car with 35 profile tyres for real life towing off of the road. And I don’t mean off road. Stopping such low profile tyres and the alloys from being damaged on ordinary road potholes could seriously damage my pension pot. It’s no substitute for a half reasonable SUV if you really need to go along half rough tracks. The Volvo competition V90 Cross Country is a somewhat more practical vehicle.

HMRC require me to pay them £57,000.00 by the end of January next year so unfortunately I won't be buying one 😗

.....now who was it said retired people don't pay taxes and are just a burden on the workers?
