Ducato gearbox

HI,
I am in the process of changing the gearbox on my W reg Fiat Ducato, its a 1.9td. I have changed gearboxes on rear wheel drive cars on many occasions, but have not done so on a front wheel drive motor since the 1970;s when I was a teenager and had a Mini Cooper .Before anyone takes this on I would have a good think about it.
I could have had it changed by a fitter who lives locally for £250 and now wish I had, laying underneath it is no fun , especially when nuts are rusted in having been there for 16 years and I am struggling to slide the gearbox back on , but come too far now so will carry on and get there in the end I hope!
So anyone not to good with spanners think long and hard about it.
Regards Dom

Always tempting, isn't it, to assume we can still do what we did 40yrs ago!
I've fallen into that trap myself a few times - thankfully not with gearboxes though.
Wishing you well with (I trust) your last heavy engineering job!
