We had a mains Dyson many years ago, when they first came out. It gave very good service but eventually died. We bought a Kirkby, ultra expensive but you could see the carpet lift off the floor so powerful was the suction. But it was for too heavy for everyday use, so we got a Vax battery upright for everyday use, then a second, one stays upstairs. Very convenient, but it needed a Kirkby deep clean every so often. Then the Kirkby died, it was about 20 years old. And I thought the Vax had got tired. So we splashed out on a new Shark Lift Off cordless. We are really impressed and would highly recommend.
