Hello all,
Has anyone any experience of these shower heads. Bailey are fitting them as standard to the new Pegasus and Unicorn- and make mention of this on their latest blurb. I looked into changing my own shower head to one of these about 18 months ago when I first heard about Ecocamel- as it seemed to have some good benefits for those of us who never use on site facilities. Reviews on the associated web sites web sites were however, very mixed and were from in home installations, not caravans. Has anyone had experience of these- and do they really increase the flow of the shower and at the same time make the water go further?

I find it difficult to see how a shower head can increase flow and yet make the water last longer! Defeats the laws of physics surely?
I think what they do is aerate the water so you feel you are getting an incraesed flow. I tend to use the submariners' method ( but we do shower more than "sometimes" during an away period) where I shower, shut the water off, soap myself then turn on the shower. We can both shower without needing to fill the 28litre aquaroll.

We have one of these shower heads, i bought it when we had our last water bill

, I was surprised how different the water feels as it comes out of the head compared to the old shower head it seems to soak you more, it sounds silly i know.
I Checked the reviews before ordering and was surprised to find it actually does save you money as other people did a simple test filling a bucket in 1 minute with the old head then the new one they found a vast difference.
i cant vouch for the water saving as i havent had the bill yet but its a much better shower and i will be taking it when we go away to see if we can het 2 showers from 1 aquaroll instead of the 1 shower

Spot on Clive about the physics and what the shower head does.

The principal has been used for years in America and Canada where in outlying townships water is still not piped, but each house either has a well or an underground tank which is filled by a water tanker, if you remember to order it! So like a caravan they have to be economical with their water usage.

Aerated water usually comes out with a lower velocity, which is where the saving is made, but the fact that it has air bubbles entrained in the flow means that the flow is not sold water but a series of air bubbles. Each air bubble is surrounded by water which has surface tension. When an air bubble comes into contact with the skin, it tends to adhere to the skin and when the bubble is disrupted the skin if water retracts (Just like a balloon popping)towards the point in contact with the skin. This means you tend to get a better wetting with far less splash and wastage. This all happens in fractions of a second.
