Hi there, thinking of trying the above at Easter, what is the site like, what are the views like from the park, what is the location of park like etc... Also I will be travelling up the A1 or possibly A68 into Edinburgh from Newcastle, knowing what Edinburgh traffic is like, how easy and which is the best way to get to site. Many Thanks, Andrew.

The Edinburgh site is very good. Pretty large but landscaped. Not much in the way of views from the site but the Forth is only about 100m to the north. Nice walk along to Cramond. There have been occasionally travelling people parked about 200/300m west of the site but doesn't seem to cause a problem. The site is very secure. Bus stop outside the gate takes you into Edinburgh - car parking very difficult and expensive in the town.

You need to travel round Edinburgh clockwise on the A720 City Bypass and basically head for the Forth Road Bridge. Full details are in the CC Handbook.

Hi

Just got back from ECC - it is easy to get to from the City By-pass A720 - just a little foray thro suburbia at the end. As said there is not much to see but a good Firth of Forth path walk is close and a family boozer is 1 mile away.

The number 42 bus takes one into the city for

You may also wish to consider the Mortonhall site. It is just off the bypass at the Lothianburn intersection and is located in a country estate, complete with highland cattle (unfortunately only 4 of them). It has a bar/restaurant next door and good walks. There is a bus at the end of the drive, along with a garden centre, into the city. Possibly not quite as high a standard as the CC site but very good nevertheless. If you do take the bus (most people do) then buy a day ticket
