I am the owner of an Elddis Avante 2011 model. In 2012 the A frame cover cracked and broke away from the attachments close to the tow bar attachment. The rear of the frame close to the van also cracked. It was eventually replaced under warranty after some negotiation. In 2014 the A frame again cracked and began to disintegrate at the front and cracked where it is attached to the body of the van. Despite my protestations, Elddis insist it was damaged by an impact. I know it was not. On both occasions the van went on a lengthy journey and on some rather 'bumpy roads'. I wish to know if any other Elddis owners have had the same problem/defect with their van.

Hi geoff I also have an Elddis Avante 2011 (it is a dealer special version but an avante nonetheless). I havent had any problem with the A frame covering or anything else of significance for that matter. Hope you get it sorted.

To me if there was impact damage there would be signs of an impact, you should see cracks radiating out from a central point. If the thing is just breaking up then it is faulty and you need to stand firm and quote The Sale of Goods act and threaten a small claims action if they do not replace it. Not sure where it is kept but the A frame cover does not seem to be a very vulnerable item in so far as impact is concerned.
