seriously thinking of buying a new eldiss avante 556, do you own one, have owned one or have any comments on this model?

we've been offered a fantastic trade-in on our bailey pagent provence 5 series, the main reason for the change is we feel the bailey lacks space in the kitchen area, and we like the idea of the triple bunk, where we can use the bottom bunk for storage of toys etc, or shuve nanny in there if need be!

I'm alittle worried about the wet room, as we enjoy a shower cubical at the moment, with 2 toddlers to wash is this easy! admittidly we usually use site facilites, but there will be occassions when we need to use ours!

also the wet room door, shuts with a loud clunk and appears flimsy, has anyone had any probs with this.

and finally, only a few months ago we bought a lovely issabella commodore royal awning, 1000cm, will it still fit on the awning rail which mesures 968cm?

thanks for your advice

thanks for your suggestions

We currently own a 2010 Elddis Avante 646 which we bought new last month and we are extremely pleased with it. Not sure of the layout in the 556 but our 646 also has the triple bunks.

Before the Elddis, we owned a 2009 Bailey Senator Carolina Series 6 which had triple bunks and a separate shower. To be honest, we couldn't wait to get rid of it, as we had so many problems.

We looked at the Elddis Avante and immediately fell in love with it. The 'real wood' lockers are nice, the cushions are good quality and the insulation is fantastic (it's a very warm van). We knew that we were compromising on the washroom, but were actually surprised how functional it is, plus there is a lot more room to move around than in our previous van. As the washroom door is magnetic, it is a little stiff and hard to open at first, but you soon get used to it.

The quality of the Elddis is far better (in our opinion) than Bailey. However, before buying any caravan, make sure you give it a thorough inspection, inside and out. This is a mistake we learned the hard way with our Bailey...it is much harder proving that your brand new caravan has a faulty floor after you have bought it.

Overall, we are very pleased with our Elddis Avante and would recommend Elddis to anyone.
