Cleaning caravan roof

Started cleaning the roof of my van. I just used a spot of bleach mixed with hot water in a spray bottle. Seems to be working OK. What do you guys use?

This year used an Aldi special caravan shampoo with an extending brush - and very pleased with the results. Usually used Mer or Care-avan or a quality car shampoo. Not sure I would trust even dilute bleach not to affect plastics or acrylics like roof lights or windows?

I always used Fenwicks caravan ckeaner. In spring I would be cleaning off the Fenwick overwintering coating that was applied in late autumn. That traps muck and algae and the caravan cleaner fetches it off very well. Then a quick spray with Fenwicks Bobby Dazzler. I have no affiliation to Fenwicks. It’s just that I found their stuff worked for me. Periodically Autoglym Resin Polish would be applied once a year.

I use Greased Lightning and lots of Micro Fibre cloths works well for the whole van. You need to change the application cloth on a regular basis. Being waterless it means I can clean the van anywhere, even on site 😱

For getting rid of green there is nothing better than Patio Magic, just spray on and walk away it does it all for you.

Fenwicks caravan cleaner. Mixed a little stronger for the roof, which only gets done twice a year at the most.

The rest of the 'van gets done a couple times more.

Fenwicks Caravan cleaner mixed with warm water, green nylon sponge thing, plenty of towels and Fenwicks Black Streak remover for the really stubborn bits. And plenty of elbow grease. Next day all finished off with Autoglym Super Resin Polish.

When can we bring ours around for you to clean the roof? 🤣 🤣 🤣

We used Fenwicks caravan cleaner mixed with warm water and a micro-fibre cloths and then spray some Fenwicks Bobby dazzler and it would leave nice shine.

As a slight aside but relevent here. Has anyone devised a tool / method of cleaning off all the gunk that accumulates in the narrow gap under the solar panel?

Muc-off. And if you put a small amount in your washer bottle you will never have /grease/smear problems.
It is water soluble and biodegradable.
